Microdermabrasion

Fat Injections

Fat injections can effectively fill in wrinkles and fine lines, create contours in the face, and diminish scars. Because fat is transferred from an area on the patient's body, there is little risk of an allergic reaction.

The first step is collecting fat from the donor site, usually the buttocks or abdomen. The donor site is numbed and the fat is collected through a needle and syringe. The fat is then prepared and injected into wrinkles with another needle. Because some of the fat will be reabsorbed into the body, the treatment area will need to be overfilled at first. Fat injections can be done on an outpatient basis with local anesthetic.
